Watch: A2RL's five-car autonomous race at Imola
The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League, A2RL, hosted an action-packed five-car race at Imola last weekend.
It's the first time A2RL has ever raced in Europe, having competed at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit as well as Suzuka.
A2RL invited the top five teams from last November's Abu Dhabi finale to compete across 12 laps at Imola.
The A2RL cars are fully autonomous racing machines, heavily adapted from Super Formula cars, and coded by each of the teams to race each other wheel-to-wheel on track.
The 2024 and 2025 champions, TUM (from Germany), went into the event looking for another victory, but it faced stiff competition on one of the world's toughest circuits.
