As revealed by The Race in May, Formula E will host a half-day test for female drivers at Valencia on the afternoon of November 7.
It will be the second time that Formula E has hosted a female-specific test after previously holding one following its inaugural Diriyah races at the end of 2018.
The rules this time specify that teams must field one driver but the series promoter is said to be incentivising them to each run two, and The Race understands all 11 teams are likely to do so.
Here is an initial list of some of those expected to be in FE seats at the test, with a full list expected in mid-October.
Jamie Chadwick
IndyCar aspirant Jamie Chadwick is highly likely to be at Valencia but the team she is to be with may well be a surprise.
The Race understands that the Road America Indy NXT race winner will not test with Andretti at Valencia despite having raced for the team over the last two seasons in the United States and driving its IndyCar for the first time on Monday.
The 25-year-old has already run twice in Gen2 Formula E cars, having tested in Diriyah for NIO in 2018 and then in Marrakesh for Jaguar in 2020. Jaguar is a possible berth for Chadwick again this time.
Recently, Chadwick has attended several Formula E races in a media capacity working for the host broadcast TV station, Roku TV and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
Abbi Pulling
F1 Academy points leader Abbi Pulling, affiliated to the Alpine strand of the Renault/Nissan empire through the official Alpine Academy, will attend the test with the factory Nissan squad.
The 21-year-old was at the London E-Prix in July and is believed to have confirmed a deal to be at Valencia around this time.
Her future in single-seater motorsport is also unclear although a possible promotion to Formula 3 is one possibility that she and her manager Alice Powell are believed to be working on for 2025.
As part of her ongoing role at Envision, Powell is also likely to run with the team again at Valencia.
Sophia Floersch
Like fellow Alpine Academy member Pulling, Sophia Floersch is likely to be in Nissan overalls for the Valencia test.
The German has deliberately shied away from overt women-only racing initiatives throughout her career having raced primarily in F3 for several seasons, in conjunction with World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series programmes.
The 23-year-old has had little in the way of F3 results with a seventh place at Spa last season her best. But she showed well in the Richard Mille LMP2 project in the ELMS and WEC over 2020 and 2021, before racing for the Algarve Pro Racing team in 2022 and taking an ELMS podium finish alongside Bent Viscaal.
Jessica Edgar
Jessica Edgar has had occasional competitive showings in the F1 Academy series in 2024, especially in Jeddah where she claimed a fourth position.
The cousin of former Envision Racing and DS Penske tester Jonny Edgar, the 19-year-old is set to follow her relation with a run out for DS Penske.
Marta Garcia
Inaugural F1 Academy champion Marta Garcia will again test with the ERT team at Valencia, after first appearing at the Berlin rookie test in May where she developed a strong working relationship with the squad.
The 24-year-old Spaniard has had a low-key 2024 racing in the Formula Regional European Championship for the Iron Dames organisation alongside Doriane Pin. Both have struggled to get results and neither driver has so far scored a point after 16 races, although Pin missed five due to injury.
Chloe Chambers
China-born American Chloe Chambers has discussed testing with the Andretti team before but it is unknown yet if she will in those colours at Valencia. However, it is likely that she will be in a car at the test.
Haas-backed Chambers has been competitive in her first full F1 Academy season, taking a win and third in Spain and a further podium in Miami with the Campos Racing squad.
Chambers is part of the Fernando Alonso-fronted A14 management stable that also looks after DS Penske driver Maximilian Guenther.
