IndyCar podcast: Palou’s key trick + drivers’ backmarker fury

1 min read

Another episode of The Race IndyCar Podcast and another Alex Palou win takes centre stage, but there’s still plenty to dissect from the Mid-Ohio race.

One of the key tricks behind Palou’s IndyCar success this season is exposed as he used qualifying to support his winning strategy. What his rivals need in terms of points to overturn him is considered too.

The big story of the race was backmarkers and blue flags as Benjamin Pedersen copped a torrent of abuse for holding up multiple drivers during the race. How the rules could change – and whether they even need to – is analysed by podcast co-hosts Jack Benyon and JR Hildebrand.

Another pole going unconverted for Colton Herta and Simon Pagenaud’s weekend-ending somersault crash are also discussed.

Don’t forget, if you have a question for our hosting team, you can email, text and/or submit voice notes to be included on the podcast by sending them to podcasts@the-race.com.
