Acquire 12 penalty points in Formula 1 and you will be banned for at least one grand prix - as will be the case with Haas driver Kevin Magnussen in Baku.
Just like driving on the road, Formula 1 racers have to adhere to the rules or they will be punished.
The stewards at each race will often dish out warnings, fines, grid drop penalties, in-race time penalties, drive-through penalties and other penalties that punish a driver in any given session.
But in addition to those on-track penalties, drivers can also be slapped with so-called 'penalty points'. These points remain on a driver's licence for 12 months and if a driver accumulates 12 then they will be banned from the next event.
Penalty points can be hard to keep track of though, so here's how rundown of how many points each F1 driver has.
