Ducati's two-time MotoGP champion Pecco Bagnaia has been bewildered by the speculation linking him to Yamaha as early as 2026 - and says he expects to be a Ducati rider until at least the end of 2028.

The arrival of Marc Marquez as his team-mate and a confounding 2025-spec Ducati has left Bagnaia as a clear second-best wihin his team for the first time since five years ago, when he was still a Pramac sophomore just on the verge of his breakthrough.

His frustration with the '25 Ducati bike has been long clear and reared its head again at Aragon, where it felt the lack of front confidence was being compounded by the track's general lack of grip.

"I needed to [change my style] because the bike isn't working," he said in one of the answers at Friday on Aragon.

"So I need to try different solutions. And the [style] of braking as much as I can, like I was doing before, is not working - normally with this bike but here more, I'm losing the front while I'm [braking] straight.

"Today I had some lock that was 30 metres of locking, it's unbelievable. I need to do different things."

Those "different things" will not include seeking alternative employment.

The idea of Bagnaia moving to Yamaha as its ideal team-mate to Fabio Quartararo has been discussed in MotoGP circles as of late. It may have originated with a Sky Sports report, though that report only really suggested that Yamaha saw Bagnaia as a target in case he wants to leave Ducati, and that there is no indication of the latter being the case.

Asked about the idea at Aragon, Bagnaia said: "I don't understand why."

He then went on to reference his answers from two weeks prior - when talking about Jorge Martin's situation at Aprilia - about how contracts must be respected for the duration.

"When there's a contract - there's a signed contract - and I told you Thursday at Silverstone that I will never quit what I signed. This is something that will never change, in my life.

"I want to stay in Ducati, Ducati wants me to stay. 'till the finish of this contract - and the next one [2027-28, presumably].

"I don't know why. I started hearing a lot, seeing a lot of posts with me [Photoshopped] with the blue [Yamaha] leather.

"It's true that a rider like me that is- not in crisis, but in some hard moment, it's true that people can start thinking 'maybe he will go'. But it's not what's happening right now to me."
