Aprilia filled three of the top four places in first practice for MotoGP's 2026 season-opening Thai Grand Prix.
Marco Bezzecchi's early 1m29.346s stood as the best of the session by 0.110 seconds over the only non-Aprilia in the lead group - Fabio Di Giannantonio's VR46 Ducati.
Bezzecchi's works Aprilia team-mate Jorge Martin was a very encouraging third as his time at the squad finally gets off to a proper start, albeit still a compromised one as he missed the first of the two pre-season tests after requiring further surgery on the last of his litany of 2025 injuries.
Martin had the only crash of first practice with a minor low-side at the final corner. He kept the bike running as he remounted and got straight out of the gravel and into the pits.
Aprilia's satellite team Trackhouse was in the mix too with Ai Ogura in fourth.
Marc Marquez was sixth in his first official MotoGP session since October last year, sandwiched between the top KTM of Pedro Acosta and the other works Ducati of Pecco Bagnaia.
Luca Marini was lead Honda in 10th, Alex Rins best Yamaha in 13th.
