Podcast: Power’s brilliance, Detroit IndyCar race unpacked

The mindset that is masterminding Will Power’s stellar IndyCar season takes centre stage in this episode of The Race IndyCar Podcast looking back on the Detroit Grand Prix.

Power’s 16th-to-first drive is just another example of him overcoming adversity this year, and podcast co-hosts Jack Benyon and JR Hildebrand analyse what Power – who reclaimed the championship lead – has said about his approach and how it’s enabling him to succeed.

Hildebrand gives that outlook some thought from a driver’s perspective, and also looks at how tough it can be for drivers to rebound from their own struggles as the podcast takes a look at some troubling patches of form for multiple drivers in the field.

Alexander Rossi is not one of those who features in that section after his resurgent drive to second – so the question of whether he is ‘back’ and how well he fits in with the Arrow McLaren SP team he’ll join next year is also discussed after that was announced last week.

It was a busy race with mad strategy, so there’s plenty more stories to tune in for.
