The Ferrari Formula 1 team should have had plenty to celebrate on United States Grand Prix Saturday as Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc claimed first and second in qualifying.
Yet Leclerc is heading down to 12th with a grid penalty, Max Verstappen is still favourite for victory given Red Bull’s usually superior race pace and tyre management, and Ferrari’s mathematical shot at the constructors’ title is likely to end at Austin.
