The way in which Nigel Mansell’s unbeaten start to what would end up being his title-winning 1992 Formula 1 campaign, at the hands of Ayrton Senna in Monaco, is the latest storyline to feature on our Bring Back V10s classic F1 stories podcast.

Host Glenn Freeman is joined by Mark Hughes and Sam Smith to look back at a memorable weekend in Monaco and the major topics in F1 at that time.

Mansell features heavily beyond his heartbreak in that race, with the claim that the Mansell-Williams partnership was too dominant early in that season, comparisons between F1 and IndyCar, and the problematic shape negotiations with Williams for 1993 were already taking all examined – including an exclusive interview with the 31-time grand prix winner, too.

Beyond that, a change of attitude for Mika Hakkinen at Lotus, Ligier’s decline, Damon Hill’s travails in a hopeless Brabham, and a miracle pre-qualifying performance from Roberto Moreno for Andrea Moda are all discussed.
