Audi has revealed that global financial technology company Revolut will be its title sponsor when it enters Formula 1 next year.

With preparations continuing for the German car manufacturer to morph the current Sauber team into its own works entry from the start of 2026, it has pulled off a coup in enticing a well-known brand to join in.

Revolut will be stepping into F1 sponsorship for the first time as Audi’s title partner, replacing the current deal that Sauber has had with sports betting company Stake (and associated streaming platform Kick) since Alfa Romeo departed at the end of 2023.

The move to chase a brand like Revolut comes with Audi capitalising on the image of F1 being innovative.

Next year, fully sustainable fuels arrive for the first time, plus there are all new engines that will feature a 50/50 split in power delivery between the internal combustion engine and battery.

Audi CEO Gernot Doellner (pictured above, left) said: “Audi is entering Formula 1 with a clear ambition: to use the platform as a technologically relevant and economically sustainable investment in the future of the Audi brand.

“We firmly believe in the success of our project, which we are approaching with a realistic attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement.

“In Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our ambitions and attitude. Formula 1 is a global stage that offers us the opportunity to reach new target groups together and generate enthusiasm for our products.”

Audi team principal Jonathan Wheatley (above, left) added: “With Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition. This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance, engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport.

Audi has promised that the Revolut partnership will look to explore new ways for fans to interact with F1 – through experiences and exclusive offers for customers.

Revolut is hoping that its move into F1 with Audi will help it further expand its customer base. It currently has 60 million customers worldwide, and it hopes to push towards 100 million over the next few years.
