Austrian Grand Prix 2025 F1 starting grid

1 min read

Lando Norris took pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

McLaren driver Norris produced a devastating lap in Q3 and was more than half a second faster than his Formula 1 opposition, with Leclerc beating championship leader Oscar Piastri to second.

It's another McLaren-Ferrari formation on row two, too, as Piastri will line-up alongside Lewis Hamilton.

George Russell was fifth in the best of the Mercedes, with Liam Lawson a standout sixth for Racing Bulls and Max Verstappen only seventh - having aborted his final Q3 run.

Four of the five drivers knocked out in Q1 weren't expected to fall that early in qualifying and at least two of them - Yuki Tsunoda (18th) and Carlos Sainz (19th) - have publicly acknowledged the possibility of a pitlane start.
