F1 inspires Barilla's new racing wheels pasta design
Barilla has put a tasty spin on Formula 1 by turning one of the most recognisable parts of an F1 car into pasta.
To celebrate its title as the 'Official Pasta Partner of Formula 1', Barilla has unveiled a new special edition shape: Barilla Racing Wheels.
The unique shape that's meant to mirror the look of an F1 car's wheel, complete with circular form, spoke-like detailing, and ridged edges designed to hold sauce.
Barilla describes Racing Wheels as a "performance-inspired" pasta, designed not only for visual impact but also for functionality in the kitchen. Its ridged structure is intended to improve sauce adhesion, making it particularly suited to thicker tomato-based or creamy recipes.
To mark the occasion, Barilla - the deputy chairman of which is Le Mans 24 Hours winner and former F1 driver Paolo Barilla - is going all out at F1's Miami GP, setting up two Barilla lasagne bars, serving classic bolognese, ricotta and spinach recipes for race-goers to enjoy.
If you want to get your hands on the racing wheels pasta, and you're based in the US, you're in luck. The pasta will be available at Walmart and other selected retailers.
While there is no confirmation yet, a wider launch in Europe is expected later in the year.
