Inclement weather during practice week at the 2025 Isle of Man TT has led to the first big schedule change of this year’s event, with the first two races - set to be held on Saturday - moved to Monday to allow an additional full-day qualifying session.
So far, only one timed session has run during practice week - on Wednesday night - with the first full day session on Monday called off, Tuesday’s practice run as an untimed session on damp roads, and mist on the Snaefell mountain causing Thursday night to be scrubbed just as bikes were heading to technical controls.
And while Friday’s extended day-long session should go ahead, organisers confirmed just as the roads started to close for it that they would also activate Monday’s contingency day to add additional timed practice time to the schedule on Saturday - when the first two races were originally planned.
Roads will now close at 1000, with superbikes and superstock machines first away, followed by supersport and supertwins, then sidecars. That order will then be repeated again from 1400, potentially giving solo riders the chance to log as many as 10 laps of the 37.73 mile course.
That in turn means that Saturday’s opening two races, for the supersport and sidecar classes, will now move to Monday. They will retain their original start times of 1045 and 1400, and will remain four and three laps long respectively.
Sunday’s schedule will remain unchanged, with the first superbike race going off at 1330 for six laps, the only track action of the day.
