Isle of Man TT now down to last chance to hold 2025 Senior TT

The schedule for the 2025 Isle of Man TT has been changed for what will be the final time this year, according to organisers.

The blue-riband Senior TT race, originally set to get going at 1045 on Saturday, has now moved to 1900 and cut from six laps to four as organisers chase a final window in the awful race week weather.

Saturday has already featured a couple of two-hour delays to the original start time that pushed the last remaining race of 2025 back from its original time to first 1245 and then again to 1445, after overnight rain left the track too damp to ride on in the morning.

But, with showers blowing in over the day from the Irish Sea, that plan has now too been scrapped, meaning that the final contingency is a late start to the race on Saturday night.

Further weather complications are expected on Sunday - and, with a limited window of road closing times available thanks to the need to fit them around church services, it means that organisers have been left with one final chance to conclude the weather-struck race week.

"The weather forecast for tomorrow is poor and - as it is Sunday - the road closure periods available to the race organiser are limited," said a TT statement.

"Therefore, it is the intention of the clerk of the course to run the Senior TT today once conditions allow, and the Senior TT will therefore not be held tomorrow."

That shortened four-race format is likely to play into the hands of pre-race favourite and double winner already this week Dean Harrison, with the Honda Racing rider normally a fast starter who has traditionally struggled to maintain his pace across full six-lap distances.

His main rivals will once again be the BMW-mounted pair of Davey Todd, who won the opening Superbike TT on Monday over four laps, and Michael Dunlop, who has already picked up four wins this week in the supersport and supertwin classes.
