Podcast: How KTM earned its breakthrough win from nowhere

KTM and Miguel Oliveira’s emphatic Barcelona triumph and Fabio Quartararo’s unzipped leathers form the agenda for the Catalan GP edition of The Race MotoGP podcast.

Host Toby Moody is joined by Valentin Khorounzhiy and Simon Patterson to discuss what Oliveira’s win means for the rest of KTM’s season and for its longer-term plans, given it’d just signed Brad Binder through 2024.

There’s also a debate on how Quartararo’s problem was dealt with, and what should happen in case of a repeat.

Likewise forming a major part of the discussion is Maverick Vinales’ busy off-track weekend, which featured both news of a shock crew chief swap and a social media clarification.

Finally, there’s a chat about the state of Joan Mir’s title defence and an update on the state of play in the 2022 silly season, including whether or not Barcelona moved the needle on Valentino Rossi’s retirement decision.
