Marco Bezzecchi led an Aprilia 1-2 in the final MotoGP 2026 pre-season test at Buriram in the lead-up to next weekend’s season-opening Thai Grand Prix at the same venue.
Bezzecchi set the fastest Buriram MotoGP lap yet - a 1m28.668s - at the end of the day, eclipsing Pecco Bagnaia's pole record by three hundredths of a second.
Trackhouse Aprilia rider Ai Ogura, a Buriram standout last year, was a tenth back in second. And the long runs backed up the Aprilia RS-GP's strong performance, with Bezzecchi delivering a top-tier grand prix simulation and Ogura very fast over a sprint distance.
Reigning champion Marc Marquez had headed the field in the earlier qualifying simulations in the morning, narrowly ahead of resurgent Ducati team-mate Bagnaia.
But Marquez suffered a third crash of the test during his race simulation in the afternoon and called it a day, unhurt but fatigued as he continues his recovery from his shoulder injury last year - and also having battled a stomach sickness through the test.
Yamaha's new V4 bike ended the test a second off, with Jack Miller (Pramac) its fastest rider in 16th.
