Lewis Hamilton was fastest in the opening practice session at Formula 1's British Grand Prix, giving his home fans some hope that he might be able to maintain his impressive Silverstone podium streak.
Hamilton hasn't finished off the podium at Silverstone since his fourth-place finish (via a dramatic tyre blow-out) in 2013.
On Thursday, he was hesitant about his chances of finishing on the podium, given he's on his longest run without a grand prix podium amid a challenging start to life at Ferrari.
But he was trading fastest times with his team-mate Charles Leclerc, the McLarens and the Mercedes of George Russell in FP1.
Hamilton ended on top on a 1m26.892s, just shy of a tenth quicker than Austrian GP winner Lando Norris.
That was the first time Hamilton had topped a practice session as a Ferrari driver.
Norris's team-mate Oscar Piastri rounded out the top three ahead of Leclerc's Ferrari and Russell.

Racing Bulls enjoyed a typically strong start to Friday with a brief spell at the top of the leaderboard. Ultimately, Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson finished sixth and eighth, with Alex Albon splitting them in seventh for Williams.
Kimi Antonelli was ninth for Mercedes, two tenths adrift of Mercedes team-mate Russell.
Red Bull was once again slower than Racing Bulls on a Friday, with Max Verstappen only 10th, frustrated with the balance of his RB21 in both the low- and high-speed corners.

He was joined in the sister RB21 by Formula 2 race winner Arvid Lindblad, who was one of two drivers making their FP1 bow.
Lindblad ended up 14th, half a second adrift of Verstappen.
Alpine reserve driver Paul Aron was also making his F1 weekend debut at the wheel of Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber.

Aron was two and a half tenths quicker than Gabriel Bortoleto, who was one of many drivers to be caught out at Copse during the session.
Bortoleto completed two full rotations before continuing, with Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz also having moments at the same corner.
Lance Stroll - 12th in FP1, right behind Aston Martin team-mate Fernando Alonso - had a spin at the Village right-hander.
