Charles Leclerc and Ferrari were fastest on the final morning of Formula 1 2026 pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Leclerc, who has the full day in the car, set the pace early on with a 1m33.689s - around nine tenths off the best lap of the test so far by Kimi Antonelli's Mercedes.

The Ferrari driver then embarked on what appeared to be a four-stint race simulation, interrupted by the sole unscheduled red flag of the session.

Antonelli's Mercedes, a quarter of a second off the pace, was the culprit, crawling to a halt just short of the 50-lap mark.

This came with just under two hours remaining in the session, and the Mercedes did not return to the track.

Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Esteban Ocon (Haas) and Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) completed a top five covered by less than a second.

In terms of mileage, it was a particularly productive morning for Ferrari, Haas and the Radcing Bulls car driven by Arvid Lindblad, while only two teams didn't reach 50 laps.

The aforementioned stricken Mercedes was one, and the compromised Aston Martin-Honda package was another.

The AMR26, its run plan for the day obliterated by a battery issue and "a shortage of power unit parts", completed only two installation laps in the very final minutes, with Lance Stroll behind the wheel.
