What happened in damp first MotoGP Mugello practice
Fabio Di Giannantonio followed up his Barcelona win by leading first practice for MotoGP's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.
But this will not be the most representative session of the weekend, with the track still damp in places from rain that is expected to stay away for the rest of the event.
VR46 Ducati rider Di Giannantonio was fastest by 0.369 seconds over Aprilia's Jorge Martin, with both running new tyres at the end.
Ai Ogura used a fresh medium rear but kept an old front soft for a last gasp lap that put him third on the Trackhouse Aprilia.
Marc Marquez spent most of the session near the bottom of the times on his return to action, before briefly popping up in seventh and then being edged down to 15th, 1.2s off the pace - though he did not take fresh tyres at the end, unlike many ahead of him.
He will be assessed after the session to confirm whether he is fit enough to proceed with the rest of the weekend following his recent shoulder surgery and foot break.
Marquez's Ducati team-mate Pecco Bagnaia had an embarrassing crash at the first corner when he ran wide into the gravel and stalled and tipped the bike over while moving very slowly.

LCR"s surprise Johann Zarco stand-in Cal Crutchlow ended his first MotoGP session in three years slowest, 3.7s off the pace.
