MotoGP 2027 grid: The confirmed deals and rumours

MotoGP's rider market for 2027 kicked off exceptionally early and is proving remarkably frenzied.

From champions changing teams to eye-watering new combinations, here's what we know about the shape of the grid for 2027.

Ducati

Marc Marquez (TBC)
Pedro Acosta (TBC)

The final confirmation is still pending, but it's an open secret in MotoGP right now that Marc Marquez will re-commit to Ducati and be joined by Pedro Acosta switching over from KTM.

The main remaining bit of intrigue is whether Marquez will commit for the conventional two years or sign a shorter deal to give himself more control over his MotoGP future.

Aprilia

Marco Bezzecchi
Pecco Bagnaia (TBC)

Coming off a third-place championship finish in 2025, Marco Bezzecchi became the first rider to officially secure a factory contract extension for the 2027-28 cycle.

His good friend and fellow Valentino Rossi protege Pecco Bagnaia will be his team-mate. Bagnaia's contract isn't yet confirmed but is known to have been agreed after the two-time champion was pushed out of the Ducati works line-up by Acosta.

KTM

Alex Marquez (TBC)
Maverick Vinales (TBC)

KTM will lose its talisman Acosta in 2027 but is believed to have moved swiftly on the market to soften the blow, though it hasn't announced anything yet.

Alex Marquez's arrival from Gresini Ducati after his 2025 breakthrough is being treated within MotoGP as an open secret.

Maverick Vinales insists he hasn't signed anything yet but has been fairly open about his KTM factory ambitions, and endeared himself hugely to the manufacturer as a Tech3 rider in 2025.

Honda

Fabio Quartararo (TBC)
TBC

Disillusioned by Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo is widely understood to be joining Honda next year - and while this specifically hasn't been announced, he has already acknowledged a decision has been taken.

This isn't thought to be the case when it comes to the identity of his team-mate. However, AS reports incumbent Joan Mir, Honda-contracted rookie Diogo Moreira and Moto2 star David Alonso are the main candidates.

Yamaha

Jorge Martin (TBC)
TBC

Jorge Martin's big move to Aprilia looks destined to go down as a misfire, with both parties seemingly happy to move on for 2027. In Martin's case, this is thought to have taken the form of a switch to Yamaha to be its new lead rider.

Fabio Di Giannantonio is known to have had talks over the second seat, and Alonso is thought to be in the mix here, too, but AS has reported Luca Marini is now positioned as the favourite.

Satellite teams

The exact landscape of MotoGP's satellite teams for 2027 isn't clear yet, with agreements to be hashed out between outfits and manufacturers - which will include how much say a manufacturer gets in nominating their satellite team's riders.

Moreira is known to be on a three-year deal with Honda, and current LCR team-mate Johann Zarco is contracted through 2027, so the pair are the likely '27 line-up for a Honda satellite - which will presumably still be LCR.

Speedweek.com reports Ducati has actioned an extension on Fermin Aldeguer's deal for 2027-28, so he will be placed at a satellite team again, with Gresini an obvious candidate to continue with the young rider.
