Bagnaia gets first 2026 race win, Bezzecchi crashes again
Pecco Bagnaia denied Ai Ogura in the Brno MotoGP sprint and scored his first race win of the 2026 season, while championship leader Marco Bezzecchi had his fourth sprint crash in nine rounds this year.
First-time polesitter Ogura lost the lead to Bagnaia's Ducati off the line, and though the Trackhouse Aprilia shadowed Bagnaia all the way - particularly in the final laps - Bagnaia hung on.
Bagnaia's team-mate Marc Marquez also closed in on both of them over the last laps, having escaped from early challenger Fabio Di Giannantonio's VR46 Ducati.
Bezzecchi was on course for fifth behind Di Giannantonio until he crashed by himself with two laps to go.
That elevated his Aprilia team-mate Jorge Martin into that spot, Martin having earlier won a great dice with Pedro Acosta - who later crashed out solo as well.
Bezzecchi's crash allowed Martin to cut his championship lead back to 15 points.
LCR Honda rookie Diogo Moreira had starred briefly in third but crashed before lap one was complete.
