Formula 1's sprint race weekends have entered a fourth year of use in 2024, with another tweak to the format brought in for this year.
But what's changed? And when and where are the six sprint races being held in 2024?
The new format
The sprint race format has undergone its third tweak since it was first introduced in 2021.
Each Friday of a sprint race weekend will feature a free practice one session as has always been the case, but for 2024 this will be followed by qualifying for the sprint race.
More from The Race
The sprint race itself will then be the first on-track action for F1 on Saturday - effectively concluding the weekend's sprint element - with qualifying for the grand prix proper taking place later that day.
Last year, the sprint format was essentially a standalone event inside a grand prix weekend, as FP1 and qualifying for the grand prix took place on Friday before sprint qualifying and the sprint race were stage on Saturday.
Teams can now also make changes between the sprint race and grand prix qualifying before a second parc ferme period.
