The late-season curveball added to F1’s tense 2021 title fight

This weekend Formula 1 will make its first visit to Losail International Circuit for the inaugural 2021 Qatar Grand Prix as the title race between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton reaches fever pitch.

Qatar is no stranger to hosting major sporting events as the Losail circuit is a staple of the MotoGP calendar and the country will host the FIFA World Cup next winter. The addition of the Qatar GP to this year’s F1 calendar is a precursor to a new 10-year deal that will begin in 2023.
