Aprilia MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi outpaced the Marquez brothers to set the Friday pace at Misano.

After narrowly trailing Marc Marquez in the opening session, Bezzecchi beat the reigning champion in the time attacks at the conclusion of the hour-long second practice.

He was a tenth quicker than Marquez, as the laptimes improved by over a second relative to first practice.

Alex Marquez was third, ahead of VR46 duo Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli - Morbidelli having to rely on a last-second improvement after an earlier top 10-worthy lap was struck off for track limits.

Pedro Acosta placed sixth but for once will definitely not be the sole KTM representative in Q2, with injury stand-in Pol Espargaro also booking a Q2 spot in ninth - aided by using Acosta as a reference ahead of him.

Two Hondas have also made the cut in Luca Marini and Johann Zarco.

Finally, points leader Jorge Martin has avoided a title blow despite trailing team-mate Bezzecchi by half a second - as he snuck into a Q2-granting top-10 spot by 0.016s over Enea Bastianini.

The Q1 roster on Saturday will include the likes of Bastianini, Raul Fernandez, Fermin Aldeguer and Pecco Bagnaia, the two-time champion looking particularly out of sorts again.
