- Description: Here's when each 2025 Formula 1 driver's contract ends, which is crucial after so many moves last year and with the next silly season in mind

An almost revolutionary driver market means only two teams - McLaren and Aston Martin - are fielding the same driver line-up for 2025 as they were the previous year.

That’s resulted in plenty of driver moves, and given that fact, we’ve sifted through to bring you the information on when each individual driver’s contracts end.

## McLaren

### Lando Norris - 2027
Oscar Piastri - 2028

Lando Norris’s [new deal](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/lando-norris-mclaren-f1-contract-new-long-term-deal/) \- announced in January 2024 - confirmed he would be with the team until the end of 2026 along with Oscar Piastri, although the “long-term” wording used by McLaren means Norris is likely tied up for the 2027 season, too.

Piastri extended his contract in March 2025 with a "multi-year" deal that you'd suspect will keep him at McLaren until the end of 2028 at least.

## Ferrari

### Charles Leclerc - "several more seasons"
Lewis Hamilton - 2026

Another January 2024 extension with a confusing outcome, this time for Leclerc, stated he would be with the team for "several more seasons”. [It has been rumoured](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/charles-leclerc-f1-new-deal-ferrari-reasons/) that the deal is until the end of 2029 with a break clause following the 2027 season.

Hamilton’s first Ferrari contract is widely accepted to be a two-year affair minimum after his blockbuster move from Mercedes.

## Red Bull

### Max Verstappen - 2028
Isack Hadjar - 2026
Yuki Tsunoda - 2025

In 2022, Max Verstappen [signed a deal ](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/an-easy-decision-verstappens-f1-deal-to-2028-explained/)to keep him at Red Bull until 2028\. That didn't stop months of speculation last year that perceived animosity in the Red Bull team and heavy interest from Mercedes could result in his departure before then, but his place is at least now guaranteed through until the end of 2026.

He will be [partnered next year by Isack Hadjar](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/yuki-tsunoda-f1-2026-no-seat-red-bull-line-ups/), who will be promoted to Red Bull following a strong rookie campaign for Racing Bulls. The announcement confirming his place stated only that he was part of the 2026 line-up.

Hadjar's arrival means the 2025 Abu Dhabi GP will be Yuki Tsunoda's last in F1 for now. Tsunoda replaced Liam Lawson just two races into the 2025 season, but his form over the majority of the campaign has been inconsistent.

## Mercedes

### George Russell - 2026
Kimi Antonelli - 2026

George Russell stood as one of the biggest stories on the driver market for 2026\. If Mercedes had tempted Verstappen away, one of its current drivers would have had to make way.

This hasn't happened for 2026, with [Russell and Kimi Antonelli finally confirmed in October](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/our-verdict-george-russell-new-mercedes-f1-deal-curious-omission/).

## Aston Martin

### Fernando Alonso - 2026
Lance Stroll - 2026

There shouldn't be any change to Aston Martin's F1 driver line-up before 2027 with both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll locked in until 2026\.

## Alpine

### Pierre Gasly - 2028
Franco Colapinto - 2026

Gasly's Alpine deal was extended further into the future midway through the 2025 campaign.

His new team-mate Franco Colapinto took the seat from Jack Doohan, and managed to secure the seat for 2026 too, [as confirmed ahead of the Brazilian GP](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/colapinto-retains-his-alpine-f1-seat-for-2026/) in November.

## Haas

### Ollie Bearman - 2026
Esteban Ocon - 2026

Haas's new signing [Esteban Ocon](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/haas-signs-esteban-ocon-multi-year-f1-deal-explained/) and 'sort of' rookie [Ollie Bearman](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/who-is-oliver-ollie-bearman-ferrari-f1-debutant/) have deals until the end of 2026\.

## Racing Bulls

### Liam Lawson - 2026
Arvid Lindblad - 2026
Isack Hadjar - 2025

Lawson has regrouped following his demotion to Racing Bulls just two rounds into the 2025 season, sufficiently so that [he will be retained for 2026](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/yuki-tsunoda-f1-2026-no-seat-red-bull-line-ups/).

He will be joined by rookie Arvid Lindblad, who has had a patchy maiden Formula 2 campaign but has impressed the Red Bull camp with his FP1 outings in 2025.

They have been presented as Racing Bulls' drivers for 2026 only.

Hadjar will contest his final race for the team in Abu Dhabi before his promotion to the main squad for 2026.

## Williams

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/dd/af/ddafbd99-2ccd-468c-b622-4b3cccf80b49/content/images/2025/03/XPB_1326644_HiRes.jpg)

### Alex Albon - 2026+
Carlos Sainz - 2026

Albon has been signed at least through the 2026 season with a [new deal](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/williams-secures-albon-protecting-itself-amid-piastri-fallout/) last year, and he'll be joined over the same period by Williams’ brilliant signing of [Carlos Sainz](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/carlos-sainz-williams-f1-deal-our-verdict/) from Ferrari.

## Sauber

### Nico Hulkenberg - "multi-year"
Gabriel Bortoleto - "multi-year"

Another fresh-for-2025 line-up, with [Hulkenberg joining ](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/nico-hulkenberg-first-audi-f1-driver-haas-exit/)from Haas and [Gabriel Bortoleto](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/who-is-gabriel-bortoleto-new-sauber-2025-f1-driver/) coming on board for a rookie year after his F2 title.

Both were announced on multi-year deals in 2024, which logic dictates they are signed to the team through the 2026 season, when the new rules era begins and the team will become Audi.
