The collapse of talks between Porsche and Red Bull, which once seemed a formality, is a major blow for the manufacturer – but it has opened the door for another one.

There are still hopes that Porsche’s proposed entry can be salvaged for 2026, when the next set of Formula 1 engine regulations come into play, but it’s a lot easier said than done – with the biggest complication on the engine side.
