The short statement from FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem saying his team plans to open an expressions of interest for prospective Formula 1 entries is no guarantee of an 11th team, but it does make the prospect a whole lot more likely.

It’s a clear hint too that there’s been a shift of attitude, too, even if there are no further details yet about the process.
