We’re nearly a month into 2021 and Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton [remains officially a free agent](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/whats-still-going-on-with-hamiltons-mercedes-deal/) with his new Mercedes deal still to be finalised.

Mercedes has maintained all along that it’s just a matter of finding time to reach an agreement amid a very unusual year.
