Honda’s increased visual presence on Red Bull’s cars might prove to be a small step in the Japanese manufacturer recommitting to Formula 1.

In the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast, Scott Mitchell-Malm and Josh Suttill join Edd Straw to discuss Honda’s subtle change in branding and what it might mean for a manufacturer that remains at the front of the grand prix pack but only in an ‘unofficial’ capacity.

Earlier this week, a key meeting was held at Honda regarding its F1 programme and there is growing speculation that it could ultimately decide make a formal return with Red Bull for the new power unit regulations in 2026.

So why should Honda reverse its decision to withdraw from F1 at the end of 2021?
