With Formula 1’s 2026 power unit regulations taking shape, we discuss the plans for a more potent hybrid system and standardisation of certain parts of the V6 engine in the latest episode of The Race F1 Podcast.

The possibility of VW Group being represented by more than one brand – given the potential for Audi and Porsche both being used to badge engines – is delved into, as well as the scale of the challenge teams face in achieving the performance required in the hybrid system without the benefits of the MGU-H.
