The seismic Formula 1 news that Williams is considering a sale of the team as one possibility in its wide-reaching strategic review process is delved into in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Williams is the team with the longest continuous ownership in F1, with Frank Williams having owned a majority stake since the company was formed in 1977, but is searching for capital that could potentially come by selling a stake in the team or even the whole company.

Mark Hughes, Scott Mitchell and Edd Straw discuss the implications for the team, why it needs to consider such drastic action and how attractive it is to an investor.

There’s also a look at Renault’s renewed commitment to F1, McLaren’s job cuts and the rumours about the Mercedes team’s future.

With the new regulations being signed off, there’s also hope that a combination of the cost cap and other measures to level the playing field really will result in a more competitive F1.
