# Hamilton firmly denies asking for Ferrari staff to be replaced

Ferrari Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has taken to social media to insist he’s “never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced” after a report in the Italian media suggested he had. 

Italian newspaper Corriere della Seraclaimed Hamilton had asked for changes to be made to trackside personnel at Ferrari and reported a weakened relationship with team boss Fred Vasseur, who had been instrumental to Hamilton signing in the first place. 

But on Thursday, Hamilton posted an Instagram story that rubbished the rumours.

“I’ve seen some of the stories that have gone out and I want to clear it up here. I’ve never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced,” Hamilton wrote.

“Everyone I work with works hard every day, and their dedication is what moves us forward. 

“I always try to empower and lift people to be the best versions of themselves or at least see the best in themselves. 

“I may not always achieve that but it’s my intention and that’s what I’m here to do. 

“We all work together and that will continue.” 

It follows a tricky patch for Ferrari, which hasn’t had a grand prix podium since Spa in July. 

It peaked with a nightmare home race at Monza, where an exasperated [Hamilton pleaded for Ferrari to work together](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/here-there-are-no-rules-hamilton-calls-ferrari-out/) to correct operational errors and poor execution.

He [effectively conceded the title in Madrid](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/hamilton-effectively-concedes-2026-f1-title-after-latest-blow/) as he fell over 100 points adrift of points leader Kimi Antonelli, having retired with a brake issue.
