It’s been decades since Formula 1 saw anything like Romain Grosjean’s Bahrain Grand Prix crash, and his survival was unprecedented.

In the Bahrain GP edition of The Race F1 Podcast, Mark Hughes, Scott Mitchell and Edd Straw talk through their feelings on watching the crash and aftermath unfold.

They analyse why Grosjean ended up in that barrier and why the accident was so savage, as well as the safety questions that F1 will have to address even while celebrating the advances that kept made Grosjean’s escape possible.
