George Russell was fastest in Austrian Grand Prix qualifying - but his pole lap was briefly investigated for yellow flag infringement [at the site of a Max Verstappen crash](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/russell-takes-controversial-austria-pole-as-verstappen-crashes-out/).

But he was [quickly cleared](https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/why-russell-kept-austrian-gp-pole-despite-yellow-flag-incident/), meaning his pole stands ahead of the two Ferraris and his championship leading Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
