# How you can drive the British GP track this Christmas

Silverstone is giving motorsport fans the opportunity to drive the circuit themselves and ice skate through the paddock this Christmas.

The track will once again transform into a Christmas-themed attraction this winter, with visitors able to drive the British Grand Prix circuit as part of a festive lights experience.

The circuit has confirmed that its Christmas at Silverstone event will run from December 11-31, 2026, excluding Christmas Day, combining motorsport-themed attractions with more traditional festive entertainment.

The main event is "Lap of Lights", which allows visitors to take their own cars onto the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit after dark and drive through a light installation laid out around the track.

Silverstone says it is the only festive attraction of its kind to use an active F1 circuit, with sections of the track illuminated and accompanied by laser displays.

Several areas usually associated with the grand prix weekend will also be repurposed for the event.

An ice rink overlooking Silverstone's start-finish straight will be installed in the F1 paddock area, while the circuit's garages will play host to both a Santa-themed attraction for children and indoor curling.

The venue will also feature racing simulators, displays of F1 cars, supercars and MotoGP machinery, as well as access to Kart Silverstone and the Silverstone Museum.
